Billy Bramlett

Gaffney, S.C. - Billy Arch Bramlett, 89, formerly of 225 Ellis Ferry Avenue, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Greenville, he was the husband of the late Betty Martin Bramlett and son of the late Arch Benjamin Bramlett and Annie Mildred Foster Bramlett. He was a graduate of Parker High School, attended Furman University, retired from Lucent Technologies, a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, and a member of Kirby Church. He loved hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan. He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers, a lifetime member of Communication Workers of America, a former board member of the Gaffney Board of Public Works and served on the Cherokee County Drug and Alcohol Commission.

Surviving are a son, Craig Bramlett and wife, Jill, of Gaffney; a daughter, LuAnn Phillips and husband, Dale, of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Cameron Bramlett, Courtney Bramlett and Tyler Phillips.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Will Vergara officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Kirby Church, 512 Chandler Drive, Gaffney, SC 29340.

The family will be at the residence, 225 Ellis Ferry Avenue, Gaffney.
